Green Hospitality Award:
The Charleville Park Hotel & Leisure Club has scooped a bronze medal in the Green Hospitality Awards. 
The Green Hospitality Award is a national programme supported by the Environmental Protection Agency and Local Authorities in recognition of efforts made to improve environmental management within the hospitality sector in Ireland.
The Green Hospitality Award currently has over 150 members nationwide in the tourism industry striving for best practice in this important area. The Charleville Park Hotel has an internal management programme which reduces the consumption of energy and water and reduces the volume of waste going to landfill etc. “Following 3 main steps, reduce, re-use and recycle, the Charleville Park Hotel forecasts to reduce costs substantially after full implementation of the programme by all members of the hotel team, along with helping the environment. There has been a major commitment by both our staff members and our customers who are happy to play their part in helping the environment.  We hope to improve on this achievement next year by going for the Silver Award”, says Brendan Comerford, General Manager.

Award winning musical society back on tour with 'Hollywood Hits'
THE multi-award winning Limerick Musical Society, who celebrate their 10th anniversary this year, are delighted to be taking to the road with their production of 'Holywood Hits on Tour' a first class night's entertainment!
''Hollywood Hits on Tour” will include musical numbers from Guys 'n Dolls, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, South Pacific, Kiss Me Kate and many more! Choreography is by national award winner, Niamh Twoomey, direction is in the capable hands of supremo Richie Ryan, with musical direction by the award winning Maire Keary-Scanlon.

Limerick Musical Society represented Limerick at the Waterford International Festival of Light Opera with their production of Barry Manilow’s ‘Copacabana’ in 2002. This Musical Society has also accumulated over fifteen national awards for previous productions from AIMS (The Association of Irish Musical Societies).
Previous productions have included ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’, ‘Chess’, ‘West Side Story’, ‘The Hot Mikado’, ‘Anything Goes, ‘The Hired Man’, Annie’, ‘The King and I‘ and ‘Fiddler on The Roof’.
