Covid-19 Policy

Dear Guest,

In this time of uncertainty, we can assure you that the safety of our guests and staff alike is our highest priority. This document outlines a set of guidelines we have implemented within the Hotel in line with Government standards for the comfort, safety and well being of our guests & our team.

Public Areas

  • Flow through the building has been adapted to allow a one-way system through the hotel with signage in all areas advising persons. Signage is also displayed reminding patrons of social distancing.
  • Protective guards are in place at the front desk. To limit the need for repeat contact we are asking all guests to avail of our express check out.
  • A return key system is in place where keys are returned into a bowl of disinfecting solution.
  • All staff will be wearing masks for safety.
  • Staff on commencement of work have temperatures taken prior to assuming duties daily.
  • Social distancing in place for staff throughout hotel and in our offices.
  • We have carried out training with our team on Infection control & prevention. All staff are fully aware of their responsibilities when it comes to the prevention of the spread of infection.
  • A team leader has been appointed in each area of our business with responsibility for Infection Control & Prevention and they have completed a course in relation to this. As part of our on-going commitment a senior member of our Management Team is currently studying and completing a healthcare standard course on Infection Prevention & Control. This team member will be in charge of managing and monitoring our compliance at all times.
  • Numerous sanitizer points are in place throughout the property on entrances, back of house and high-volume areas.
  • A dedicated Housekeeping assistant is sanitizing all public areas regularly.
  • Natural air is being circulated where possible in public areas with windows and doors open.
  • Credit card machines are sanitized in all departments following use.

 Meetings & Events

  • Our conference rooms are being thoroughly sanitised prior to arrival
  • Conference/meeting rooms have been set with social distance measures in place with individual tables.
  • There are hand sanitising stations in each room.
  • Sanitised pencils along with a single sheet of paper which are disposed of after each meeting.
  • Tea/coffee is available and made to order.
  • All Condiments for breaks are individually wrapped.
  • Bottled Water is available for the duration of conferences.

Dining Areas

  • Please Wait to be Seated Signs are in place with a Host greeting guests and seating.
  • Existing wooden floor restored for ease of sanitising in dining area.
  • One Way System in place and signage clearly visible.
  • Furniture has been changed for ease of sanitising.
  • Call & Collect menus available. All available Menus are available via our website on www.charlevillepark.ie/menus therefore guests can view menus on personal phones and not require our in-house menus.
  • Ample outside dining space is available so guests can dine in the open air with social distancing of tables. Guests can bring own comforters to this area if they wish.
  • Menus have been placed in clear plastic holders and sanitised before & after each customer.
  • Bottled Water is available at reduced rates.
  • Individually wrapped cutlery & condiments.
  • All glassware & cutlery has been cleaned in an over 70-degree wash.
  • We encourage payments to be completed via contactless format at tables.


  • Windows are being left open in guest rooms after departure to ensure clean air circulation. We ask that guests leave their windows open when they are vacating their rooms.
  • Once a guest checks out, we do not enter the room for 48 hours after to service. This in turn has led to reduced capacity of rooms available for sale each night in the Hotel.
  • Housekeeping department staff wearing personal protective equipment.
  • We have removed any unnecessary objects from rooms such as pens, cushions, throws.
  • We have changed how we service stayover rooms in line with business best practice –meaning we provide an amenity bag for rooms with no service, no staff in room once it is guest occupied and supplies placed outside guest door daily, guests are asked to kindly leave waste outside door for collection.
  • We advise guests to use the stairways and avoid lifts where possible.

Leisure Facilities

Initially we will have a new booking system in place for our visitors. You will be able to book your time slot for the Pool or Gym 72 hrs in advance at reception by email; leisureclub@charlevilleparkhotel.com or tel; 063 33790 (1 ¼ hour for Gym use & 1 & ½ hrs for Pool & Changing room use) see time slots below.

  • Pool: 6.30-8am, 8.30-10am, 10.30-12pm, 12.30-2pm, 2.30-4pm, 4.30-6pm, 6.30-8pm, 8.15-9.15pm
  • Gym: 6.30-7.45am, 8-9.15am, 9.30-10.45am, 11-12.15pm, 12.30-1.45pm, 2-3.15pm, 3.30-4.45pm, 5-6.15pm, 6.30-7.45pm, 8.00-9.15pm
  • OAP Time Slots: Pool (Tues & Fri)10.30-12pm, Gym (Mon & Wed) 2-3.15pm
  • Initially the Changing Rooms will be open to Pool users only so we can limit capacity of our changing rooms.
  • All areas will have a capacity reduction
  • Jacuzzi and sauna will be open to 2 people MAX per use however steam room will remain closed in line with HSE and governmental guidelines.
  • Our Gym equipment is now all 2 metres apart and we have some equipment in our Studio area to allow for more Gym space
  • We have allocated a private gym area for single booking
  • All our classes will be in the Hotel Function room initially to allow for more numbers, we have a new Class timetable available at reception.
  • We are maintaining air flow throughout the building and we have a new air conditioning system in our Gym. Doors will remain open where possible.
  • We have carried out training with our team on the Coronavirus and our expectations of them during business and while carrying out our normal daily duties. All staff are fully aware of their responsibilities when it comes to the prevention of the spread of infection.
  • We have placed numerous sanitizer points throughout the Leisure Club
  • Our Leisure Club team are sanitizing regularly – gym equipment, door handles, push doors, lifts, buttons, lockers, light switches for example
  • New Deep Cleaning procedures are in place and every area will be cleaned between booking times with a new fogging machine for the changing rooms at night.
  •  Notices & Information sheets have been circulated to staff and are present in staff room
  • The chemicals we use cleaning & wiping down surfaces are cleaning & disinfectants all in one
  • Full chlorination takes place in our pool with pool testing and temperature testing carried out every two hours. We also have regular testing from CLS laboratories.
  • Chemicals are provided for sanitisation of gym equipment after use and we insist members use these.

We would also ask you to

  • Sanitise and wash your hands as often as possible
  • Cover nose & mouth when coughing
  • If you have any flu like symptoms please inform us as we have additional protocols in the handling of this instance.
