1. Ballyhoura Bike Trails
Ballyhoura Mountain Bike Trails are the largest trail network of its kind in Ireland. 98km of trails including forest road climbs, tight twisty singletrack with loads of ups and downs, board walk, tight turns and technical rocky sections are guaranteed to leave you smiling.
The trails range from the moderate 6km Greenwood loop to the demanding Castlepook loop, over 50km in length! The loops between are Mountrussell 17km loop, Garrane 35km loop and Streamhill 41km loop.
Facilities at the trailhead include map boards, car parking, toilets, showers and bike wash facilities. On arrival, there is a secure car park with monitored CCTV cameras. There are also snacks and tea and coffee available.

2. Doneraile Wildlife Park
Doneraile Wildlife Park was named this June 2017 as Ireland’s fourth-most-popular ‘free to enter’ attraction of 2016 by Fáilte Ireland, attracting over 480,000 visitors last year!
The Park comprises approx. 166 hectares and is an outstanding example of 18th Century landscape. The park is a place for all ages & the pathways are generally accessible for people with special needs. Explore the numerous trails and walks as well as a number of deer herds which can be viewed along many of these walks, have a picnic by the lake while watching the swans or letting the kids enjoy the playground.
Doneraile Court has opened its doors once again and resumes its rightful place at the heart of this great estate. 3. Fota Wildlife Park
Fota Wildlife Park, part of the Zoological Society of Ireland, is located on 100 acres at Fota Island 10km east of Cork City and has an annual attendance of 440,000 visitors. It is currently the second largest visitor attraction in Ireland outside of Leinster.
A definite must visit for all families. No ordinary zoo, here you can come face to face with free roaming animals and birds.

4. The Donkey Sanctuary, Liscarroll
Knockardbane Farm is an Open Farm and it is home to 134 donkeys. This farm is open to the public 365 days a year. There are beautiful walkways to enjoy with stunning scenery and donkeys and mules to admire. There is a Visitor Centre and picnic area on site and welcome over 50,000 visitors per year. Admission and parking are free with a visitor’s ’information Centre with Tea/Coffee machine, picnic area as well as a disabled access and toilet. www.thedonkeysanctuary.ie

5. Charleville Town Park
Just a short walk from the hotel, it’s ideal for the kids complete with Playground for babies/ toddlers up to old children. Some of the features include swings, seesaw, 2 storey play house, play train, hop scotch, play cars, slide, swing baskets and climbing frame.
Older children may enjoy playing football or basketball in the Astroturf pitch.

7. Ballyhoura Horse Trekking
Ballyhoura Horse Trekking offers a friendly and relaxing trekking experience. It is located in Kilfinane and offers treks through forest trails with breathtaking views of the Ballyhoura, Galty and Knockmealdown mountain ranges.
They offer one-hour treks for beginners and two- and five-hour treks for experienced riders. Available for families of all sizes and groups also.
8. Ballyhoura Walking Trails
The Ballyhoura Mountains straddle the borders of North Cork & South Limerick with views across the Golden Vale of the Munster heartlands. 9. Clay Pigeon Shooting
In a hidden gem of breathtaking scenery, lies the best Sporting Clay bird Ground in Munster.
Clay bird shooting is where an individual shoots at special flying targets known as ‘clays ‘with a shotgun. It is a thrilling experience, demanding concentration, a keen eye and quick reactions.
